Owners have basically 4 options:
Option 1: If you currently have a deadbolt lock on your door, you may keep it. There will be a cost of $30 to have it re-keyed.
Option 2: You may have a new deadbolt lock installed.
Price range: $180 ~ $250
Option 3: Have a new keypad lock installed without batteries. You can use this as a simple deadbolt, using just a hard key. Batteries can be installed at any time in the future to enable use of the keypad.
Have the keypad lock installed with batteries, but no remote capabilities. In this "stand-alone mode" you can program the keypad with your combination. You can give access to your unit to anyone you want without giving them a hard key, just by telling them the combination.
Price range: $275 ~ $340
Option 4: Have the keypad lock installed with batteries and a
Z-wave module. This module would connect wirelessly to a hub inside your condo. The hub would connect to your wifi network, and can be used to control a variety of devices in your unit.
Price range: $320 ~ $390
Vacation Rental Collective (VRC) will require this option for units that they manage.
In the event that you or your guest cannot unlock the lock using the keypad, a hard key can be kept in a lockbox (pictured left) next to the door. Guests would need to contact the property manager for access to the lockbox.
The locks can ALWAYS be opened with a hard key.
IMPORTANT:
Property Managers and/or owners will be solely responsible for providing access to their units for their guests. There will be no front desk staff to facilitate this.
